More information about membership

WROF offers our members fresh, organic produce grown close to home.

Our farm is a hybrid of the popular Community Supported Agriculture model and a Farmers Market. Members get a box of food each week, but we let you decide what you want and how much, and you pay only for what you get.

Members join the farm by starting a prepaid account. Each week, the farm sends an email to our members with a list of produce available. Members place their order, we harvest their food and prepare a box to be picked up at the farm. The prepaid account is debited for the food that you buy. When your account runs out, you can choose to recharge it or pay for your food on a week-by-week basis. You never get veggies you don’t like or more food than you need.

We developed this model of membership farm to be flexible and to fit the unique needs of the Illinois Valley. We know that many of you grow your own gardens and don't want a big box of summer squash in August. We let you choose the what and how much produce you get. We also know that times are tight and it is not easy to pay for a season's worth of produce up front. We are asking for each member to start an account of $95 - this is about 4 to 6 weeks of produce for a familiy of 2 to 4. (Noone will be turned away for lack of funds - please talk to us to work something out.)

Your prepaid account is invested directly into getting the farm up and growing for the season. We appreciate the support of our members!

Member Benefits

WROF Members:

* Have first pick of fresh fruits and vegetables harvested each week.
* Are sent a list of the organic produce available weekly.
* Order the food they want when they need it.
* Pick up their ready order at the farm on harvest day.
* Have a wide variety of produce to choose from throughout the season.
* Know where their food comes from and who grows it.
* Are supporting a local food source.

WROF is a community effort

Our farm is your farm. Your prepaid account is applied entirely to the production of food. This upfront payment helps to support the farm by defraying the cost of preparing the farm and planting.

How it works:

Members join by filling out an enrollment form and beginning a prepaid account. Each week, WROF sends members a list of produce available. Members send in their order by email or phone and pick up their orders on harvest day at the farm on Caves Hwy.

Members contribute $95* before 5/1 (after 5/1 $125) to a prepaid account. This prepaid credit is applied to produce orders at weekly harvest times. Once your prepaid account has been spent, you can recharge your account to continue enjoying WROF’s delicious produce.

*We don’t want to turn anyone away for lack of funds, so please talk to us to work out another arrangement if the fee is not doable for you.

About the Farm

Wild River Organic Farm is a family-run, organic farm located on the banks of the East Fork Illinois River, 1 mile east of Cave Junction.

We grow a wide variety of produce, including: Basil, Beans, Beets, Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Cilantro, Corn, Cucumber, Kale, Lettuce, Winter Squash, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Honeydew, Onions, Bell Peppers, Jalapenos, Potatoes, Pumpkins, Radishes, Spinach, Chard, Summer Squash, Tomatoes and more.

We have been farming for 8 years in Southern Oregon. WROF is beginning its 2nd year as a membership farm. Before WROF, we had a farm in Grants Pass where we grew melons, cucumbers, tomatoes and had a U-Pick strawberry farm. We had been living in the Illinois Valley and farming in Grants Pass. We bought property in the Illinois Valley in 2006 and moved the farm closer to home.

We are committed to providing quality, organic produce to our members. We are not yet certified organic, but we grow all food according to Oregon Tilth Standards.

We are inspired by the idea of creating a stable, local organic food base in the Illinois Valley. We believe it is more important than ever to know where your food comes from and to support each other in a venture toward healthy sustainability.

2009 Season

Call or email us with any questions. We look forward to growing with you this year!
