2008 Membership Letter

New Organic Farm Taking Root in the Illinois Valley!

Jerry and Amy Lapora invite you to become a member our new endeavor - Wild River Organic Farm.

Wild River Organic Farm (WROF) is a membership farm. This is a flexible model of Community Supported Agriculture that allows members to order what they need when they want. We believe this will serve the unique needs of the IV community while creating a sustainable, local food source.

Help the IV develop its local food source by eating yummy, organic food!

Already have a big garden? WROF will grow staple crops that you can put up for the winter - dry beans, winter squash, corn, etc. You can put in an order at the end of the season.

Have a small or medium sized garden? You can add produce that you're not growing or need more of by ordering from us when you need it.

Don't have a garden? We'll provide you with the yummy, organic produce you want in a quantity that you need all season.

Wild River Organic Farm will:

  • Include member input in planning the farm
  • Give members flexibility to choose the produce they want when they want it
  • Grow food here in the IV to be eaten here in the IV
  • Send out a weekly list of foods available and reserve the food you order for you
  • Distribute food at a central location in the IV
  • Promote sustainability and work toward a stable food source in the IV
You have to be a member to join the fun!

How to become a member - Email us at wildriverfarm@gmail.com and we'll get you signed up!

Membership fees are $75 to $150 sliding scale before May 11 (after May 11, the fee will be $95 to $175). These fees are a prepaid credit toward produce - you'll pay nothing for produce until you recoup your membership fee.

Join now! Limited number of memberships are available this year!

Let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to growing with you!

Thanks,

The Lapora Family

Amy, Jerry, Jobe and Braedan
